The Weser Uplands offers exciting journeys of discovery for all kinds of visitors, be it relaxing day trips, journeys lasting several days on long-distance cycle routes or adventurous mountain bike descents. In fact, there’s something for everybody in the Weser Uplands. As you cycle along, you can also make the most of living history and exciting tales alongside the trail in the form of picturesque villages, colourful towns full of half-timbered buildings and impressive castles, palaces, monasteries and churches.

If you’re considering a cycling holiday in the Weser Uplands, the Weser Cycle Route is an absolute must. The cycle path, which is approximately 520km long, always provides a view of the river Weser and has been commended as a 4-star quality cycle route by the German Cyclists Association (ADFC), starts in the town of Hann. Münden. From its starting point in the south of the Weser Uplands, the cycle path takes cyclists right across the region before leading them through northern Germany on its way to the North Sea.

The wide variety of cycling options available in the Weser Uplands also offers you the chance to go on exciting day trips, for example in the extensive network of mountain-biking routes in the Solling-Vogler region or on one of the many themed tours available throughout the entire region. Visitors looking for a physical challenge can even make the most of a number of routes and events for racing cyclists. Take a look at our website and be inspired or use our Weser Uplands Navigator to directly plan your very own tour!
