The Qualitätswege Wanderbares Deutschland (Quality Trails in Germany for Hikers) represent special hiking experiences, with natural tracks, full signposting and many other quality criteria offering everything you need for worry-free and action-packed hikes. The short quality trails are a new highlight and enable hikers to also make the most of quality approved by the German Hiking Association away from the long-distance hiking trails.
In 2016, the Weser Uplands also welcomed its first four approved short quality trails, which couldn’t be any more varied. The Drei-Burgen-Route (Three Castles Route) and the Weg zur Selbstzuwendung (Route of Self-Care) in the western Weser Uplands focus on two completely different topics, namely the history of the three castles located on the Weser Ridge on the one hand and self-care and relaxation on the other, with the latter trail featuring its own specially developed relaxation programme and corresponding audio guide. The Das liebliche Walterbachta (The Sweet Walterbach River Valley) trail in the eastern Weser Uplands takes you on a journey of discovery through the picturesque valley that inspired its name. These three trails all belong to the “traumtour” (dream tour) category of routes featuring particularly attractive and varied landscapes. The Wichtelpfad (Gnome Path) in the "familienspaß” (family fun) category, on the other hand, has a completely different focus. The trail is designed especially for families and uses a multitude of fun tasks and activities at different stops to teach children more about the forest as a living environment. Our award-winning day hikes look forward to seeing you soon!
