Myths & Legends – Tales from the Weser Uplands

The magical Weser Uplands is home to not one, but several well-known myths, legends and fairy tales.

Sleeping Beauty fell into her deep sleep lasting a hundred years at the Sababurg castle (also known as the Dornröschenschloß, or Sleeping Beauty Castle) and in Hamelin, the Pied Piper drove away the town’s population of rats before using his music to kidnap its children.

The Münchhausenstadt Bodenwerder was the residence of Baron von Münchhausen. Yes, he really did exist! His tales, however, were often far from the truth, which earned him the nickname of “Lügenbaron”, the Baron of Lies.

On top of all this, the Weser Uplands was also the home of Cinderella. The central location of the fairy tale Cinderella by the Brothers Grimm is the palace in Polle.

Come and enjoy a magical journey of discovery and be whisked away into a world full of myths, legends and fairy tales!
